Abstract:

Re-Engineering Application is very expensive due to 1) the source codes are more complex, 2) program understanding difficulties, 3) Legacy system developer were no longer available ( resigned or left the organization) and existing developer does not have enough skills to help the enhancement 4) Lack of documentation etc. In order to contribute the reengineering process, The broad objective of this research is to build a reengineering framework using software engineering techniques and available engineering XP Key practices ( Refactoring source code means get into Object oriented methods), which include to read the source code of exiting software, Static Analysis checks on coding conventions, designing of functionalities, detect inconsistencies of errors, evaluate with metrics and give appropriate positive steps to achieve the higher quality of further enhancements.
